Do not live at the Vaughan Place.

These apartments are supposed to be luxury living, but they are not although you still pay the price. This morning I woke up to my roommate knocking and pointing out the window, and when I looked out THE VAUGHAN STAFF WAS CUTTING THE BIKE LOCK ON MY BIKE AND TAKING IT AWAY. They couldn't have just left a note to move it? I ran in my bare feet to the main office where I asked to get my bike back. That is where the snooty little reception desk woman gave me attitude and told me to go into the leasing office. When I went in there they told me to talk to the reception desk. At the desk the rude receptionist told me to go BACK to my residence. That is the kind of service you will find at the Vaughan. I will never be compensated for that bike lock. Other complaints: Every morning at 8-9am the Vaughan has people outside my building with LEAF BLOWERS. My garbage disposal broke Recycling is not properly taken care of! When I went to get a key for the fitness room, I tried it in the door and it didn't work. This is an annoying inconvenience. The doors are not soundproof. You can hear even the quietest conversation inside someone's apartment from out in the hall.

Great Community

We are loving the neighborhood after 1 month. Very convenient to many areas as well as groceries etc. the grounds are nice and green and the area is pretty quiet. The pool and fitness room are both great bonuses. Loving our apartment and the location!

Not for the bladder-challenged....

I read the reviews for McLean Gardens before renting, and despite the negative comments about paper-thin walls I rented a 1-bedroom there since the price was too good to pass up. Well. I would much rather pay an additional $500/month to be able to use my bathroom in peace instead of hearing the constant whining complaints from my upstairs attorney neighbor about how loudly I go, how often I go, the time of day at which I go, and the squeaky bathroom door (that I now shut even though I live alone in the hopes of reducing the complaining). Unfortunately these complaints are not made directly TO me, they're made in a loud shrill voice from within her own apartment that the entire building can hear. Passive aggressive much? And frankly most other neighbors in the complex are not much better. A few are nice, and fewer still are actually friendly, but most won't make eye-contact or return a pleasant "good morning!" when passing on the sidewalks. I've never before lived in a community with so many nannies. I find the nannies very polite and even friendly. it's unfortunate that their employers don't emulate their behavior. The area is lovely - very residential, easy walk to the Cleveland Park metro and the Giant/CVS stores on Wisconsin Avenue. But I have to think there are other, less "toney" addresses where the people are less self-involved and just generally more pleasant, so when my 15-month "sentence" (otherwise known as a lease) is up I will definitely be moving on.

Vaughan Place Apartments - Pet Owners and Young Professionals DREAM

I just moved in a few months ago to a two story apartment at Vaughan Place and I absolutely love it. The staff is extremely helpful if you ever have any questions. The neighborhood actually feels like a comfortable, welcoming place you would want to be. The one time pet fee with few breed restrictions is perfect for pet owners. Young professionals make it a great community to be a part of. The charm of the neighborhood and the convenience of the location make it an extremely good place to start your new life.

Affordable Luxury

I have been renting one of the condo style apartments at Vaughan Place for almost a year. It is a lushly landscaped paradise, and the staff are very professional. There are a couple of pools conveniently located for the residents with a fitness center and shaded, inexpensive parking. Best of all, there is a grocery store and Starbucks around the corner.
